Question by Super Radical: Is it normal to not want sex for fear of pregnancy?
Me and my boyfriend have been together for a year and a half, and have been sexually active for most of that time. I've had times that I thought I was pregnant, and they were horrible and terrifying.
I know that contraception can be very effective, but there is really no safe time or way to have sex. So I've told my boyfriend that I really don't want sex anymore. Is it normal to feel this way?

Answer by Junebug due 6.8.2009 I think it's a responsible point of view! If you know that you are not ready for a baby yet, than the choice you have made is very normal! You are right, you can use contraceptives but the only way to know that you will not get pregnant is to not have sex. I got pregnant using contraceptives and I know a lot of other women who have too! There are just no guarantees!
Hi about 7 months ago I engaged in protected vaginal and oral sex with a sex worker (in a developed country). The Sex worker also changed condoms during the incident for unknown reasons.Initially I was paranoid about it and havent engaged in sexual acts with anyone since then. However recently ive had diarrhea and for the first few months it was constant then with some over the counter medicine it gradually reduced and now its only the stool content when I use the washroom that the stool is like that of diarrhea. I also have muscle soreness and fatigue.
I went to a doctor and explained my concern and I had blood and stool tests done then explained my STD concern where I also got a Urine test (which came back negative). When I explained it I was told the risk of me getting it is really low because protection was used. During the encounter I'm pretty sure the condom didnt break and if it did I didnt notice. The doctor asked if I want to be tested by HIV and the results would take a week to come back but I decided that the week of waiting would do alot of harm so I got an anonymous card for a location for rapid tests.
Based on what I said above, how likely is it that I could have contracted HIV? I have the location for the Rapid Tests but I keep siking myself out of going out of fear for what I'll find.
Btw, plz dont reply with things like "OMG YOU HAVE HIV!"
